Steve Pohl

Steve Pohl: Vice President of IT and Marketing

Steve Pohl came to the Camden, Camden & Associates team to help establish Camden, Camden & Associates as a 21st century company by building their digital identity and online brand in the information age. As a former Texas Workforce Solutions-Vocational Rehabilitation Services consumer and the husband of a disabled veteran, Steve has seen several sides of this industry. His experience in web design is rather eclectic with sites as varied as telecom companies, campaign sites, portfolios, fan art galleries, SEO consulting, and he also designed the website and e-book covers for a best selling Canadian author. In the past he has taught web design for the Upward Bound program at Richland College and still spends time helping out in their multimedia lab to aide students in using a wide array of modern digital media tools. Steve is a movie and trivia buff and likes to spend his free time reading, gaming, creating digital art, traveling cyberspace, and spending time with his wife and gifted daughter.

Edgar Lara

Edgar Lara: Bilingual Career Coach

In July of 2022 we lost our friend and colleague Edgar Lara. Edgar was with us for a decade and in that time he touched all our lives with his generosity, spirit, and humor. We will miss him dearly and our thoughts are with his family.

Edgar originally comes from a migrant family from Guatemala City. He speaks three languages and has been in the United States since 1973, he attended high-school and college in Los Angeles California, and graduated in 1978 with a major in computer science. After he moved to the Dallas area in 1981, he continued college at Brookhaven College in Farmers Branch to earn a degree in Principal management. He worked for several major companies in Dallas as an Assistant Manager, and worked for Rolex Watch Service Corp. for 15 years as Inventory Control Manger and went back to college to earn several more degrees, including a Public Relation degree from East Field College in Mesquite, Texas. Being a former Texas Workforce Solutions-Vocational Rehabilitation Services consumer, Edgar joins Camden, Camden & Associates with a strong knowledge of consumer needs and an even stronger desire to use his skills and knowledge to meet those needs.

Business Consultant

Sonja Camden

Sonja Camden, MSW, 2009 Business & Administrative Consultant

Sonja is a thirty-year veteran in working with those with disabilities, to include mild, moderate, and severe physical and mental health challenges. Her personal and professional experience began with Garland Independent School District as a special education aide and after completing her bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington she transitioned to Medicaid waiver case management. Sonja continued her education at the University of Texas at Arlington and completed a Master of Science in Social Work. Upon completion of her education, she accepted employment with the Texas Department of Assistive & Rehabilitative Services (i.e., now Texas Workforce Solutions) as a Vocational Rehabilitation Teacher and served many clients with low vision and blindness. After intensive state training and work experience, she launched her own business as a community rehabilitative program service provider for the state. Sonja is still retained with Camden, Camden, and Associates as an Administrative Business Consultant, and is co-owner of a Wisconsin corporation that also provides competitive employment services for state referred clients with disabilities, all of whom seek to re-enter the workforce or find employment for the first time. As a result of life experience, the pandemic and grief-based needs on a global scale, Sonja completed a certification in grief life coaching, and founded a nonprofit organization headquartered in Wisconsin; Mourning Joy, from grief to healing to hope. Sonja's hobbies include reading biographies, inspirational & spiritual literature, music, crafts, knitting, traveling, and yet most importantly time with family when opportunities arise to include virtual visits whenever possible.
